QS-DocumentAssembler Version 4.4 installation notes
Update
If version 4.0 or greater of QS-DocumentAssembler is installed on your system, then you can now install over the existing version and thus update. Simply enter the existing version’s installation directory during Setup.
Installation
- Install Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5
- Unpack the ZIP archive, e.g. using the software „WinZip“
- QS-DocumentAssembler will be installed on the PC with SETUP.EXE.
Attention: Please install the Visual C++ Runtimes (11 + 12) for security as they may not already exist on your system. You can find the runtimes in the DocumentAssembler Zip file in the vcredist_x64 directory.
Important notes on using the new OCR engine
When creating searchable PDF documents, you can choose between the Tesseract engine and our new standard engine.
To work with the standard OCR engine, Ghostscript 9 must be installed on your computer. For legal reasons, however, Ghostscript can not be combined with the DocumentAssembler, but must be downloaded and installed separately. Please make sure to download the appropriate Ghostscript version for your DocumentAssembler version. The 64-bit DocumentAssembler e.g. requires a 64-bit Ghostscript version. If you save your settings with selected standard OCR engine and Ghostscript is not installed on your computer, you will get the possibility to download the appropriate version from our homepage.
Configuration
The application is already configurated with standard settings. In the options dialogs you can change these settings, e.g. concerning paths and barcode recognition. In the application documentation you find hints for that. The documentation of the application you find at: „\docu\docasm_en.pdf“.
Evaluation
The evaluation version offers all the features of the full version. Also, the recognition results are slightly falsified: All 3->1, all a->Q, all b->S. There will be the Text „Demo“ written in the results of 2D-Barcodes at random. The full version of the software can be ordered at QS QualitySoft GmbH.
