Read barcodes from documents and sort or split them by barcode
QS-DocumentAssembler recognizes barcodes on image files or PDF files and processes the documents using the barcode data. All common linear barcode types and 2D barcodes Data Matrix, QR Code, PDF417 and Aztec are supported.
With QS-DocumentAssembler QS QualitySoft GmbH offers a powerful, flexibly configurable software for sorting, splitting and indexing of scanned documents.
QS-DocumentAssembler recognizes barcodes from scanned documents and processes the documents automatically according to the barcode data. Barcode recognition is performed using QS-Barcode SDK library.
In addition to barcode recognition on documents, defined areas (reading zones) can also be read using OCR. The results of the OCR can be provided for further processing in the same way as barcode recognition.
The DocumentAssembler is also able to process ZUGFeRD documents. The hybrid ZUGFeRD data format integrates structured invoice data in XML format in a PDF document. These ZUGFeRD documents can be recognized and written to defined directories. If required, the integrated invoice can be extracted and made available to follow-up applications.
QS-DocumentAssembler is available in a Standard and a Professional Edition. The Standard Edition cannot be operated as a service and can perform only one job at the same time. The Professional Edition differs from the Standard Edition in that the Professional Edition supports the processing of documents as a Windows service as well as it supports any number of parallel processes for the concurrent processing of several jobs.
QS-DocumentAssembler is available for both editions in several versions for different types of barcodes.
The versions are available for the following barcode types:
- Linear Barcodes
- PDF 417 (2D)
- Data Matrix (2D)
- QR Code (2D)
- Aztec (2D)
As well as any combination of the above types of barcodes.
QS DocumentAssembler as Windows Service
The QS-DocumentAssembler Service offers you the option of processing documents as a service without any user interaction, offering you the following advantages:
No user needs to be logged on.
Automatic restart by the Windows Service Manager
Once the server has been restarted, the service starts up automatically.
Continuous processing of documents without the need for any user interaction
The service can run in a local system account or a user account.
Error logging in the Windows event log
Dispatch of an e-mail in the event of an error

You can order QS-DocumentAssembler from QS QualitySoft GmbH.
Documents are read from a source directory, document barcodes are interpreted, and the documents are saved in a target directory using the bar code as file name. The entire process is performed automatically without any user interaction required.
Rename & Increment
In addition to Rename, subsequent pages, or “following pages” without barcode can also be processed. They are assigned a barcode corresponding to the one just previously read. File names are created based on the bar code and a serial number.
Rename & Multi-Page
Instead of creating new files with incremented file names, following pages are added to a MultiTIFF-file. This process creates one MultiTIFF file for each document containing its first page (with identifying barcode) and all its following pages (without barcode).
Move & Index
Following the barcode interpretation, the documents are moved and an index file is written that saves the barcode data for each document. QS QualitySoft GmbH continually develops new formats for these index files and compatibility with several archive systems is now possible.
Watch & Trigger
QS-DocumentAssembler is used in connection with fax servers and network scanners to monitor and process the input documents.
Read a Lot
QS-DocumentAssembler can also be used to read “unlimited” barcodes from an image file. Application examples are logging for the goods issue, in which many small barcode labels with the serial numbers are put on large checklists, which are then scanned. The reading with QS-DocumentAssembler here is simpler and faster than with Hand-Held Barcode Scanners.
The application is easily configurated using the user interface.
QS-DocumentAssembler writes information about all steps performed into log files, which can be later processed using your applications.
